Base Defender

Base Defender - v0.1 (early test) Defend your Core against waves of zombie. Gear up in walk-up shops, build barricades and turrets, level up and pick perks, and hold the line as long as you can. PLAY WITH FRIENDS OR WITH BOTS Up to 8 players can join a game. Any empty slot can be filled by a bot teammate, so you can play solo, with one friend, or with a full squad. Bots shoot, build, shop, revive and heal, and a real player takes a bot's place when they join. THIS GAME IS NEW This is the first public version (v0.1). It is a real, playable game, but it is young: balance is still being tuned and bugs are expected. Every piece of feedback is welcome, and I will keep improving the game from it. Tell me what is fun, what is too hard or too easy, and what is broken. FEATURES - Co-op, 1-8 players, with bots. Mix humans and bots as you like; join a game already in progress and get catch-up gold and XP. - Waves from portals. Zombies come from 1 to 4 lanes (depending on the number of players) and every 5th wave brings a tougher mini boss. Drag a wave out too long and the horde goes into overtime and rushes the Core, so running in circles will not save you. - Five professions: Universal, Engineer (turrets), Heavy (ammo boxes), Light (cheaper shops) and Medic (heals allies). - Weapons and gear: pistol, shotgun, rifle and a rocket launcher, with magazines, spare ammo and an active reload . Armor, helmets and potions. - Build: place sandbag barricades and auto-turrets, repair them, and upgrade turret damage and fire rate. - Shops and perks: walk up to shops, spend gold, level up and choose perks. Revive downed teammates before they bleed out. - Generated maps: every map comes from a seed (copy it, share it, replay it) in forest, jungle or desert. - Host options: difficulty (Easy / Normal / Hard), number of waves or endless, start gold, prep time, shared or per-player gold, friendly fire, random shop positions. - Sound and feedback: announcer lines for kill streaks and boss kills, music, and hit and damage feedback. HOW TO PLAY W A S D - move (hold Shift to sprint) Mouse - aim and shoot (hold to keep firing) R - reload (tap R again at the marker for a perfect reload) E - open shops; hold E to revive a teammate or repair a building 1 2 3 4 - switch weapon 8 / 9 - place a barricade / a turret (click to place, mouse wheel to rotate, right click to cancel) 5 / 6 / 7 - pick a perk when you level up Q - drink a potion G - Heavy only: drop an ammo box Tab - player list U / I - turn the camera Mouse wheel - zoom The host picks the settings on the Setup screen and presses START RUN. KNOWN ISSUES (v0.1) - Balance is a first guess, especially in later waves. - The first join can take a little while: the game downloads its assets (models and sounds). - Multiplayer has so far been tested with only a few players; please report desync or lag.
