Absolute Mayhem

ABSOLUTE MAYHEM CHASE THE MONEY. CLEAR THE CONTRACT. SURVIVE THE MAYHEM. Absolute Mayhem is a fast-paced single-player arena roguelike built around movement, gunplay, physics chaos, and one very important question: ONE MORE ROUND? Clear combat rounds, choose upgrades, build your payout, and decide whether to walk away with the money — or risk everything by stepping back into the arena. CASH OUT Survive the contract and your winnings are yours. Every round you clear increases the value of the run. Know when you've made enough, cash out, and secure your payout. OR RISK IT ALL The longer you stay in, the more dangerous the arena becomes. Push your luck too far and die before securing the money, and your run ends with nothing. THERE'S ALWAYS ONE MORE ROUND. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ MOVE FAST. STAY ALIVE. Absolute Mayhem is built around aggressive movement: • Bunnyhop • air-strafe • slide • air dash • wall-run • vault • mantle • stomp Keep your momentum and make the enemies work to catch you. Standing still is usually a bad idea. TURN THE ARENA INTO A WEAPON. Gunfire isn't your only option. Use the Gravity Tool to grab and launch physics props, smash enemies with whatever is lying around, throw explosive barrels into fights, and turn the environment itself into part of your loadout. Sometimes the best weapon in the room is the room. BUILD THE RUN. Between rounds, choose upgrades that change how you approach the next fight. Build into your weapons, movement, survivability, or utility and create a stronger run as the contract escalates. SURVIVE THE CONTRACT. Push through escalating rounds and survive what the arena throws at you. Make it through the full contract and secure the biggest payout you can. CHASE THE LEADERBOARD. Your best secured payout on each map is recorded on the global leaderboard. Cash out big, climb the board, and see how your run stacks up against everyone else. MADE FOR FACEPUNCH GAME JAM III Absolute Mayhem was created for Facepunch Game Jam III — One More Round. The entire game is built around the temptation to keep going when walking away would be safer. CURRENT CONTENT: • Studio Floor • Escalating combat rounds • Run upgrades • Physics-driven combat • Boss encounter • Global payout leaderboard • Meta progression and loadouts DEVELOPER NOTE This is my first 3D game after previously working primarily on one 2D project before this, and I wanted to use the jam as an excuse to build something fast, physical, and a little ridiculous. I absolutely love classic Source movement, you know, surfing and bunny hopping sort of thing. so i tried to recreate that movement as best I could along with some really nice movement tech to add to the air strafing and bunny hopping, I hope you all have fun with it!! Thanks for playing — feedback is always appreciated.
