SummaryMultiplayer FPV drone simulator that lets you fly and PvP on any map uploaded to S&box.
Description
AcroBox: FPV Drone Simulator - (CONTROLLER OR RADIO RECOMMENDED) AcroBox is S&box's first ever physics-driven, multiplayer FPV Drone Simulator. If you enjoy freestyling or engaging in PvP dogfights, AcroBox aims to provide. Fly on any map* in the S&Box ecosystem AcroBox mounts maps directly from S&box workshop, allowing you to fly on any map* uploaded to S&box. If it exists, you can fly on it. Multiple Control Schemes AcroBox supports multiple input methods for flight: • Gamepads (Xbox, PlayStation, etc.) - RECOMMENDED • FPV Radios (RadioMaster, etc.)** - Setup required • Mouse & Keyboard (Supports ANGLE mode ONLY) - This is a basic flight mode. You need a controller for real flight! Game Modes Right now, I'm really focused on making AcroBox feel good to play. There's only support for Freestyle (free roam) at this moment in time, but it includes a toggle to enable experimental PvP. This PvP includes a linetraced weapon that triggers an EMP Jammer that scrambles enemy controls to drop them out of the sky, and a physics-based Tow Cable to tether and drag enemies around for a limited time! Future plans include a Hide and Seek team-based PvP mode and a 4v4 TDM mode. Physics & Tuning Built with aerodynamics in mind, AcroBox simulates the feel of a tinywhoop FPV drone. Find the gravity to be too high or low? The motors too weak or strong? Change it! There's support to customize different aspects of the drone. Currently, these values are exposed: • Flight Tuning / Map Scaling: Motor output limit and Max Speed. • Rate Profiles: Roll, Pitch, and Yaw rates, alongside custom Stick Expo. • Camera: Camera FOV, Tilt angle, and toggle analog video VFX. There are also toggles for a DJI-like ANGLE mode and 5-inch quad option for different physics properties. So, grab your FPV Radio or controller, and have fun flying! * Maps without valid spawn points will not work, but there's a lot that do!! ** To use an FPV Transmitter, you must follow these instructions on the AcroBox blog: link ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dev Notes: AcroBox will continue to improve! This is a passion project and utilizes the Garry's Mod approach of having a game mode that works universally on all maps. Getting a solid foundation is step one, and I'm fairly happy with how things feel at the moment. It is to be noted that AcroBox is subject to change its physics to improve upon the current feel of the game. In the future, I plan on making some official maps, and would love if the community mapped for the Freestyle & PvP modes too! Please leave any comments or forum posts with any weird bugs or 'gotchas' that occur. I'm new to S&box and I will try my best to fix them, thank you!
