| Description |
Crosswind Front is a military combined-arms FPS alpha built in s&box. Join one of three factions, equip at your base and cross Crosswind Valley on foot, in a ground vehicle or by helicopter to fight for the industrial relay.
Playable in s&box. Current public build: 0.2.13.
WHAT YOU CAN PLAY
- Infantry combat with eight weapons, optics, leaning, prone movement and teammate revives.
- Magazine and backpack management: load ammunition, combine stacks and loot fallen soldiers.
- Ground vehicles and helicopters for transport and combat, with seats, cockpit views and flight controls.
- AI infantry and early transport systems that help populate the battlefield.
- Tactical equipment including launchers, binoculars, rangefinder, thermal optics and defibrillator.
- Building damage, persistent operator career progress and after-action reports.
TAKE THE RELAY
The faction with a unique headcount lead earns one point for every 10 continuous seconds of control. Ties, an empty zone or an enemy takeover reset partial progress. First to 120 points wins; rounds can last up to 60 minutes.
START YOUR FIRST MATCH
1. Select Play to join a compatible lobby or host a match. AI fills remaining combatant places for the match countdown.
2. Use F at the arms trader to equip a weapon and supplies.
3. Open the map with M, locate the relay and head toward the objective.
Key controls: WASD move; Shift sprint; RMB aim; LMB fire; R reload; Q/E lean left/right; Tab backpack; F interact, board or exit; 3 tactical equipment; hold 4 for the equipment wheel; Esc menu and settings. Helicopters: Shift/Ctrl collective, W/S pitch, A/D roll and Q/E yaw. In a vehicle, R starts the engine and V changes camera.
LATEST IMPROVEMENTS
0.2.13 brings the refined Humvee, CT-13 transport helicopter and all three minis. The Humvee has stable wheels, more ground clearance, a furnished cabin, a moving steering wheel and corrected foot placement; factions can buy multiple Humvees when the delivery pad is clear. The CT-13 has a fitted 13-seat cabin and a matte olive paint job. The minis have cleaner bodywork and rotor blades while keeping their clear front glass and weapon variants. Vehicle dealer previews now show the updated models.
EARLY ALPHA EXPECTATIONS
Art, collision, AI, balance and performance are still developing. Some sounds are temporary placeholders; improved sounds are planned. Start with a small group: the configured 60-player cap has not been validated in a full session, and dedicated-server joining and the latest remote inventory/weapon behavior still need testing. Low video-memory systems may load slowly or stutter; try Low world detail in Settings. Voice and text chat are not implemented, so arrange communication outside the game. Expect bugs and possible resets.
HELP SHAPE THE NEXT UPDATE
Try aiming, leaning, magazine loading, vehicle seats and the relay objective. Share feedback in this game's Forum with build 0.2.13, what happened, what you expected and steps to reproduce it. Include your weapon/optic or vehicle, host/client role and graphics settings when relevant.
If you enjoy the playtest, favorite the game to find it again and leave an honest review based on your experience.
