Orbit Foundry

SummaryBuild an orbital shipyard above a gas giant: catch asteroids, smelt and assemble parts, and send a fleet to a new star.
Description
The game is still changing between updates: content, balance and the interface. Your stations carry over. Found a bug or have an idea? Post it in the Forum tab.You run a shipyard in orbit around a gas giant. Asteroids drift past the station all day; your tractor beams pull them in, and your belts turn the rock into parts for a fleet bound for another star. The client is Orbital Industries. Your dispatcher is ORBI, an AI that quotes the regulations, counts every hull plate and slowly gets attached to you. [Image] How it plays • Catch. Beams on the edge of the station grab passing asteroids and break them into ore. Two beams side by side can land the big boulders. • Build. Belts carry ore to smelters, presses and assembly benches. Chapter 1 is hull plates. By chapter 8 you are making flight computers and nitinol antennas. • Ship. Each shipment waits at the dock with its cargo list. Fill it and the ship jumps away; the next one arrives a few minutes later. 22 shipments over 8 chapters. • Night shift. Every eight minutes the station spends two in the giant's shadow. Solar panels go dark, and the batteries you built have to carry the lines. • Further out. Research unlocks faster machines and more floor. From chapter 7 you launch satellites from a cosmodrome for helium-3, ice and metals from the asteroid belt. [Image] What's in the game • A story campaign of 8 chapters that ends with the fleet leaving (and a mug for the employee of the quarter). • ORBI's briefing in chapter 1, short tips when something new shows up, and a guide on H. • Splitters, mergers, sorters with two outputs, underground belts, copy and paste, and blueprints shared between your worlds. • A system map for sending satellites. • A sandbox with everything unlocked and free to build, with day, night and power on your terms. • 16 achievements. English, French and Russian. • Single-player. Nothing can fail: a ship waits at the dock until its cargo is ready. [Image]
